Be Safe in the Sun

Since I live in Arizona ~ make that Sunny Arizona ~ I am constantly reminded to put on the sunscreen and to wear a hat and long sleeves.  This is my little reminder to you, 'cause you all mean so much to me...please take care of your skin and your eyes.

Take Steps to Protect Yourself

It isn't possible or practical to avoid sunlight completely, and it would be unwise to reduce your level of activity to avoid the outdoors because physical activity is important for good health. But, too much sunlight can be harmful. There are some steps you can take to limit your exposure to UV rays.

Just remember four key steps: Slip! Slop! Slap!… and Wrap!

Slip on a shirt.

Slop on sunscreen.

Slap on a hat.

Wrap on sunglasses.

These steps complement each other, and they provide the best protection when used together.

Huge Green Hugs,

  1. I live in the desert mountains of California and I have learned to take all the steps you listed above. I also try to do my outdoor chores and dog walking early in the morning in the summer. What I usually forget is to re-apply sunscreen when I go out later in the day. Thanks for this.

    1. Inger - Thanks for commenting and adding your tips! Sun safety is so important. I have lost count of the skin cancers and pre-cancerous lesions I have had removed. I wish I could have a do-over of my teen years when I didn't use sunscreen.
      Huge green hugs,
